Panel Panache Class Description: Come join Ruth Davis in this 2 ½ part class creating a beautiful One Block Wonder using 7 panels! Each one is different based on which panel each student uses. These can be individualized for a special person in your life, or for something you love! In Part 1, Ruth will demonstrate how to line up 6 of the panels perfectly, cutting techniques, and how to make half hexie units to allow for straight piecing. Yes, you read that right! No “Y” seams involved!!! You will be given a “little” homework before the next class. For Part 2, the half hexies will go up on the design wall for the design portion of the class. Students will bring their remaining panel to design their quilt around. Ruth will show you how to take them off the wall to keep your design straight. We will sew as much as class time allows. Finally, in the half class, we will learn how to insert the panel in the “quilt window” and several different ways to complete the quilt top. Join in the fun!
