The jacket shown is made with "cheater fabric", it has not been pieced. Don't let that scare you. It can be made with a quilt or quilted fabric.

Print out the pattern and tape together, determine size you want to make by measuring from the center of your side across your back to the center of your other side, adding 4 inches for ease of putting on and taking off hoodie. Compare with pattern to determine size you will be making. Trim down your pattern to that size. I made an XL. I needed 2 ¾ yards for the outside of the hoodie and 3 ¼ yards for the lining and binding. I then cut off 1/2yd for the binding of the lining fabric and took the outside and remaining lining fabric to my longarm quilter and had her quilt it. I had her lightly quilt it so it was not too dense and I also took her bamboo batting. It seems to drape a little better than others. Warm and natural batting works as well. If you are making a zippered jacket you only need to add 2 inches of ease. You will also need a jacket zipper also called a separating zipper. 22 inches worked for me, but I’m short. Please come with your fabric quilted, already to go for cutting and assembling your jacket! Bring your sewing machine, sewing essentials, rotary cutter and fabric scissors capable of cutting through quilted fabric. Binding clips, matching thread and zipper if making zippered jacket.
